FendX Technologies, a leading nanotechnology company specializing in surface protection coatings, is excited to announce its plans to conduct real-world testing of its innovative REPELWRAP™ film with LA Fitness.
In collaboration with Dunmore International Inc., FendX is initiating pilot manufacturing runs of the REPELWRAP™ film. Upon successful optimization of the manufacturing process, FendX will proceed with real-world testing at the LA Fitness location in Vaughan, Ontario, a suburb of Toronto. LA Fitness, a prominent fitness club chain with over 690 locations across the U.S. and Canada, offers a variety of fitness amenities to its members. The testing will involve applying the REPELWRAP™ film to high-touch surfaces within the fitness club to evaluate its effectiveness over approximately four weeks. This testing aims to confirm the repelling capabilities of the film, previously demonstrated in lab tests at McMaster University.
Dr. Carolyn Myers, CEO of FendX, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "We are pleased to be working with the LA Fitness Vaughan club to test our REPELWRAP™ film. Gyms and fitness centers are critical environments due to their numerous high-traffic, high-touch surfaces. This collaboration with LA Fitness will provide us with valuable insights into the performance of REPELWRAP™ film in a real-world setting. This is our sixth testing site, and we are excited to engage with various industry partners to assess the film's performance under different conditions and across diverse industry sectors."
REPELWRAP™ film is FendX's flagship product currently under development. This protective surface coating film utilizes the company's award-winning nanotechnology to significantly reduce the adhesion of pathogens, bacteria, and viruses by over 98%, thereby minimizing their transmission on surfaces prone to contamination. The company anticipates that REPELWRAP™ film will have extensive applications in healthcare and other industries.
FendX is a Canada-based nanotechnology company focused on developing products to make people's lives safer by reducing the spread of pathogens. The Company is developing both film and spray products to protect surfaces from contamination. The lead product under development, REPELWRAP™ film, is a protective surface coating film that, due to its repelling properties, prevents the adhesion of pathogens and reduces their transmission on surfaces prone to contamination. The spray nanotechnology is a bifunctional spray coating being developed to reduce contamination on surfaces by repelling and killing pathogens. The Company is conducting research and development activities using its nanotechnology in collaboration with industry-leading partners, including McMaster University. The Company has exclusive worldwide licenses to its technology and IP portfolio from McMaster, which encompass both film and spray coating nanotechnology formulations.
